About Bir

Nestling in the Kangra Valley at a height of 6864 feet, Bir falls in between Palampur and Jogindernagar and is the beginning of a matchless holiday experience. In and around Bir are a number of small attractive spots. There is the serene, calm and tranquil Payulchakuli monastery- the largest in India- where you can reflect in peace. A two-km walk brings up the quaint delights of two small fortresses. There are tea plantations evoking the colonial charm of British Days. On the way at Baijnath, is an ancient Shiva temple to visit.
